Yesterday we announced the first wave of artists for this year’s Split Festival in Sunderland, and we are excited to announce that we will be playing a very special set to close the Festival on Sunday 23rd September.
We decided to take a break last year and it was agony being there and not playing. It felt wrong because The Futureheads are so associated with Split, people kept coming up and asking, ‘so when are you doing your ‘secret’ set?’ Well this year it is no secret!
Tickets are available here.
To find out who else is playing and for loads more on Split, visit the website here.
Ian West, excellent photographer and long-time friend of The ‘Heads, will be selling some extremely limited edition photographic prints at our two Sunderland Minster shows this weekend.
We have worked with Ian a lot over the last few years, and he has documented more or less everything we’ve done from This Is Not The World through to our most recent Rant tour.
These images will not be re-printed and are only available in strictly limited numbers.
He has also made a couple of great videos for Dave’s ‘Hyde & Beast’ band Never Come Back
& You Will Be Lonely
and also the excellent Rant Tour preview clip we released earlier this year. Watch that here
At the two Sunderland shows, he will have a selection of prints for sale, all hand-numbered; certain shots will also be signed by the four of us.
To those of you not able to make it to the gigs this weekend, keep an eye out here and in our online store for more opportunities to pick up some of these awesome prints!
Sumer may well be icumen in, but we’re over the moon to be announcing our first full-electric rock show of the year at the newly opened Darlington Hub! We’ll be performing there on June 8th, and tickets are available on the door only!
We’re really enjoying doing the acoustic and a cappella stuff, but it’s going to be great to throw ourselves around in a full electric show for the first time in ages!
If you’re in the North-East area, come on down!
Don’t forget that we still have our a cappella / acoustic Shepherds Bush Empire show in September on-sale
for those ‘Heads fans who live further South.
Get involved, everyone.
We’re delighted to announce an A Cappella & Acoustic headline show at London Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Wednesday 19th September.
We had an absolute ball on the Rant album tour, and there’s been something unique about each show so far. The London Union Chapel gig felt really special, so we are excited to be bringing our A Cappella & Acoustic show to another one of London’s magical venues. The presale begins tomorrow at 10am sharp from the link here.
They go on general sale this Friday at 9am from all the usual suspects.
Pleased to announce we’re headlining this year’s Nozstock: The Hidden Valley in Herefordshire on Saturday 28th July!

Due to enormous demand, we have announced a second hometown show this May at Sunderland Minster.
We will be playing a cappella & acoustic on Friday 18th May, in addition to the SOLD OUT show on Saturday 19th May.
We are proud to be joined at this show on stage by the Longbenton Community College Choir and supported by the wonderful Lucas Renney.

The lovely folks at Banquet Records in Kingston have posted a film of our a cappella instore.
